Our Sensitive Santa event this year will look a little bit different as there will not be any sitting for a Santa picture this year. There will be holiday decor, games, music, activities, cookies and milk, goodie bags, stations and more – all from the warmth and safety of your car. This will be a socially distanced, masks encouraged, drive thru event with the option to exit at the end for those who feel comfortable doing so. Bring your own cameras/phones for a selfie with Santa! Families are encouraged to decorate their cars as well to get in the holiday spirit! Open to all families with special needs looking for some holiday fun.
Special thanks to Christ’s Church of the Valley for hosting all three of these events this year! We look forward to seeing you at this fun event! You can RSVP above after 11/15 for each vehicle that will be attending.
In years past when we could gather, our Sensory Inspired Santa Experience for Kids with Autism and Special Needs provides a supportive environment which eliminates bright lights and loud noises that can trigger sensory sensitivities for someone on the spectrum. Each child taking their picture with Santa receives one on one time with the holiday icon in a private area that is modestly decorated. Parents have expectations about different key events in their lives that they want to share with their children. Just because a child is on the autism spectrum doesn’t mean they should be denied this experience. We are hoping to make this a unique and memorable experience for the entire family.
